WWE has housed more championships than Tony Khan has had major announcements, with a combined 44 championships being officially recognized as WWE-branded titles. That doesn't even include those bought out from WCW, ECW, and other organizations, nor does it include NWA-branded championships that WWE once used as its own.

2024 has been a solid year for WWE, featuring quite a few title changes on PLE and TV.
1
With an amalgamation of men's, women's, and tag teams vying for these titles comes with it storied title histories and, to be more specific, title changes. Such occurrences have become a rarity in modern WWE as Triple H has opted for length over legacy, but that's not to say there haven't been plentiful WWE Premium Live Events to have featured a glut of coronations.

The Rock, X-Pac, and The Brothers of Destruction left San Jose with those titles, respectively, though only The Rock's win over Booker T was a title swap.

Meanwhile, TLC II, an oft-touted defining match of the Attitude Era, saw Edge and Christian emerge as Tag Team Champions.
The undercard saw three titles change hands. Kane became Hardcore Champion for the first time after besting The Big Show and defending champion Raven in a hectic brawl, Eddie Guerrero defeated Test for the European Championship, and Chyna wrestled her final 'Mania match, conquering The Right to Censor's Ivory for the Women's Championship.

Matt and Jeff entered as surprise additions to the RAW Tag Team Championships Ladder match, proving why they are the masters of that craft, and leaving Orlando with the red straps.

WWE changed more than a few championships at Survivor Series 2002. Shying away from the traditional Survivor Series Elimination matches, the event instead featured two multi-person/team elimination-focused bouts; an Elimination Chamber match - the first of its kind - and a three-team Elimination contest. Shawn Michaels and Los Guerreros won the World Heavyweight and Tag Team Championships in those.
The Big Show lifted his second WWE Championship after Paul Heyman turned on Brock Lesnar, ending Brock's undefeated streak. Finally, Billy Kidman and Victoria were crowned the new Cruiserweight and Women's Champions.

23 days shy of the anniversary of his first Money in the Bank cash-in, CM Punk found success with WWE's star-making briefcase at Extreme Rules 2009 . Sprinting to the ring after Jeff Hardy had wrestled the World Heavyweight Championship away from Edge in a death-defying Ladder match, 'The Voice of the Voiceless' overcame a brief flurry of offense to end Hardy's reign in a matter of minutes.
Elsewhere, Batista won the WWE Championship from former Evolution ally Randy Orton inside a steel cage, Tommy Dreamer won WWE's ECW Championship in a tame Hardcore match, and Chris Jericho lifted what would be his final Intercontinental Championship after unmasking Rey Mysterio. Lastly, though not a title per se, Santina Marella regained her title of Miss WrestleMania after covering Vickie and Chavo Guerrero in slop.

WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championships | The Bludgeon Brothers | The Usos | Triple Threat match with The New Day |
A literal child became a WWE champion at WrestleMania 34. That was the leading headline exiting the 34th 'Showcase of the Immortals', as Nicholas - a 10-year-old boy who transpired to be the son of WWE official John Cone - was 'randomly' selected from the audience to partner with Braun Strowman against RAW Tag Team Champions, The Bar. They won, naturally, and Nicholas now stands as WWE's youngest champion.
The SmackDown doubles titles also swapped hands when The Bludgeon Brothers flattened The Usos and The New Day, while Seth Rollins won the Intercontinental Championship from The Miz, and Jinder Mahal ruined Rusev Day with his United States Championship ascendancy. The last two title swaps of the night saw Cedric Alexander win the vacant Cruiserweight Championship and Nia Jax overcome her bully, Alexa Bliss, for a taste of the RAW Women's Championship.

The Hardcore Championship, much like it did two years earlier at WrestleMania 2000, dominated WWE's databases at WrestleMania X8. Maven entered as champion, before Spike Dudley, The Hurricane, Mighty Molly, Christian, and Maven, again, attempted to escape Toronto as king - or queen - of the hardcore division.
Rob Van Dam, himself a pioneer of hardcore wrestling, opened WrestleMania by winning the Intercontinental Championship from William Regal, and at the other end of the spectrum in the evening's headline attraction, Triple H won his first World Championship since 2000, dethroning Chris Jericho of the Undisputed Championship.

Thirteen! Thirteen new champions were crowned throughout WrestleMania 2000, ten of which occurred across a fifteen-minute time frame. The Hardcore Battle Royal - a free-for-all weapons-based plunder, rather than the over-the-top extravaganza WWE presents every January - saw the Hardcore Championship change hands ten times.
Outside of Tazz, Viscera, and The Mean Street Posse's claim to WWE fame, Kurt Angle lost both the Intercontinental and European Championships in a two-fall Triple Threat match, and Edge and Christian were successful in the company's inaugural Triangle Ladder match, toppling The Dudley Boyz and The Hardy Boyz for the former's Tag Team Championships.
